Ornaments
In OpenType fonts, ornaments are best accessed through the glyph palette.
Adobe InDesign and Illustrator Glyph Palette
Go to: Type/Glyphs
From the pull down menu, select "Ornaments."
This will show the ornaments in the font.
Or, from the pull down menu, select ""Entire Font."
This will show all characters in the font.
QuarkXpress Glyph Palette Version 8+
Go to: Window/Glyphs
From the pull down menu, select "Ornaments."
This will show the ornaments in the font.
Or, from the pull down menu, select ""Entire Font."
This will show all characters in the font.
Macintosh OSX Character Palette
Go to: System Preferences/International/InputMenu/Character Palette
This will show all characters in the font.
Windows Character Map Utility
For XP and Vista:
Character Map Utility
CE and Other Languages
Macintosh OSX Character Palette and Keyboard Viewer
Go to: System Preferences/International/InputMenu/
There are two Palettes at the top of the list:
- Character Palette
- Keyboard Viewer
The Character Palette shows all characters in the font.
The Keyboard Viewer shows the key layout by language.
